[edit]I hardly think Svetlanas article should be named Svitlana just because that might be her birthname.. Svetlana is her official stage name like on eurovision where she was mentioned as Svetlana also her offiical eurovision.tv name, naming it Svitlana would be wrong. anyway it has been mentioned in the article know i hope that will satisfy the people wanting to change the name.--Judo112 (talk) 14:55, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Change of article name
[edit]@EricLewan: moved the article page (but not the talk page) to LOBODA on 24th December without any discussion. I have reverted this. If you think the article name should be changed please use the process at WP:RM#CM.-- Toddy1 (talk) 07:54, 25 December 2016 (UTC)
Requested move 23 March 2017
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: Not moved. Consensus is that the current title is most appropriate and that it would be unsuitable to rename to the requested target. (closed by non-admin page mover) -- Dane talk 01:19, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
Svetlana Loboda → Loboda (singer) – Since 2010 Svetlana Loboda uses her last name Loboda (stylized as LOBODA) for her music career and is recognized by this name on her music releases and social media. Because "Loboda" is used for other people with this surname, my proposal is "Loboda (singer)" as the best way people might search for her article on Wikipedia. - Oppose. If Wikipedia were a wholly owned subsidiary of iTunes, then renaming the article to match how her albums are listed on iTunes might make good sense; but it is not. Svetlana Loboda is still known as Svetlana Loboda in English and Светлана Лобода in Russian; a search on Google for either form of her name produces huge numbers of hits. Her Instagram account has on the front page this link to a magazine front cover with a photo of her and the words Светлана Лобода, you will notice the date of the magazine: 27 марта - 2 апреля 2017 (27 March - 2 April 2017). So clearly, those people who have heard of her, are likely to have heard of her as "Svetlana Loboda".-- Toddy1 (talk) 16:06, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. This performer's stage name is "Loboda" which should also be the article's main title header in the same manner as Adele, Beyoncé, Björk, Cher, Lorde, Madonna (entertainer) or Rihanna are the main headers of those entertainers' Wikipedia entries. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 04:15, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose: She may currently perform as LOBODA, but she's better known to the wider community as Svetlana Loboda. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 04:33, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose – sticking with natural disambiguation (her name) seems better than parenthetical disambiguation of stage name here. Dicklyon (talk) 04:58, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
